Sarge

I'm trying to catch up on commissions (and that is so not a complaint).  This little guy is Sarge and his human posted pix of him on Flickr so I could draw him.  He was definitely an odd looking cat but he did have the pinkest tongue.  Have a look he's here.

And as with any commission, I want people to buy them only if it's really what they want.  If not, I'll just draw some more.  No obligations.

New Banner

This the same banner I used for my Etsy shop.  I have to change it though, add a few more drawings and some text.  Work in progress.

New Series - Yawning Puppies

First there was the sleeping cat series and the sleeping dogs series and then the yawning baby series and the sleeping children series and now and yes now we have the Yawning Puppy Series.

Sweetest Pea

Sweetest_pea Thanks to Caro I have a name for this series - The Napping Baby Series as opposed to the Yawning Baby Series.

And I had an epiphany.  I have alot of those.  Mostly because I love the word - epiphany.  It's sort of a Snoopy dance kind of word.  Anyway, I was having an inner conflict with this cute overload thing I'm apparently going through lately.  So I've decided to stop fighting it.  I'm going to embrace it instead.  Cuteness here I come!

I found this adorable baby on Flickr but I forgot to favorite it or copy the link.  She was so so sweet.  But, then again I don't remember seeing a baby that wasn't that sweet.

5"x7" marker on cardstock on available on my shop.

Leo in the Studio

Jane on the west coast posted a photo of her buddy in the studio so I just had to post one of Leo.  He was around 4 and I was making a quilt wall hanging for a friend.  I put it down for a minute turned around and there he was - hiding in plain site.

I don't have a pix of the completed quilt.  It was a black and white log cabin with alternating red and yellow centers.  There was a 3" border of flying geese and strips of poka dots.  The yellow dot fabric was the back fabric.  I always used good fabric for the back even if it was a wall hanging.  Someone might look at the back you know.

Sleeping Child with Red Bow

I guess I'm in a Mary Cassatt mood though my drawings really have no resemblance to her beautiful paintings.  Maybe I'm just expanding my sleeping kitty repertoire.

Sleeping Boy in Blue

I have a new book on Mary Cassett.  I like how she drew moments, as if someone walked by and there was a child sleeping or a woman combing her hair or holding her child.  So intimiate and real you could almost step into their lives.   5"x7", marker on 110lb cardstock and in my Etsy shop.

Child in a red checkered dress

Baby_in_red_check_dress Sometimes, when I have so many things to do or things I want to do I can't stop thinking about all of them at once.  The result is I don't do anything.  That's what's been happening the last few days, that and work, the ever present, ever stressful work that pays the bills.  I hate Sunday afternoons because I have to think about that.  Ugh!

So when I have that ugh feeling I think of the one thing that makes me feel better.  Here's a drawing then.  And she's in my Etsy shop.
